The $65.00 is still about 3X what I pay for HID but getting to the point where I may buy one for comparison. 35 Watt HID draw between 2.2 and 2.4 amps according to the 20 or more I have measured. Very happy with the light output, color and focus with all those I have installed into H4 & "Honda bulb" applications. The fan with the potential of contamination concerns me which is the other reason that I have not tried the high output LED. The lower output, bulb only LED so commonly advertised are too low output, IME, for use in a KLR. They can be an improvement in something like a CT110 application. .....  $65.00....hmmm. Maybe.  :-) Thanks to everyone for the thoughts. Norm

According to the info Cyclops published in the latest edition of ADVMoto (07-2015), in addition to the $60-$65 cost of the lamp there is the $20-$40 cost of the rectifier. A bit of research on the web suggests the Cyclops (Studebaker) may be related to another's design and is likely produced by a company called Yana Shiki (use of the same photos). "A gun would have been a godsend." I might have added the word BIG in that statement.  Otherwise one might only hope their remains covered with pepper spray would at least give the bear heartburn and scat nothing would touch the next morning. You only need the rectifier for AC bikes, the KLR is DC, has its own Kawasaki OEM rectifier. From: DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com Sent: 7/ 16/ 2015 8:33 AM To: DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com; normkel32@...
