I'd go even longer to the second oil change or more. Glad to hear you have good dealer support. Think I remember seeing something about a dealer bulletin on late model KLR's using excessive oil. You might look / search for it to keep handy just in case.

Thanks for the +1 on Jeff Saline. I would say that he is a Good Guy, but I know he would be listening...... I became acquainted with Jeff through the OKAirhead Gatherings at John & Lynda Woods and the Red Earth Tech Day. He is a little weird about wanting to sleep with a Whoopee cushion... fuel petcock problems
Had an unpleasant experience today when the fuel petcock outlet spigot (where the hose to the carb connects) popped out. Could have been worse I suppose. Does anyone know what is supposed to hold this thing in? Something with such a potential for serious problems should, in my mind, have a positive means of locking in place. I can't see anything there - am I missing something? Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks
