Thanks for the +1 on Jeff Saline.  I would say that he is a Good Guy, but I know he would be listening......   I became acquainted with Jeff through the OKAirhead Gatherings at John & Lynda Woods and the Red Earth Tech Day.  He is a little weird about wanting to sleep with a Whoopee cushion... I'd go even longer to the second oil change or more. Glad to hear you have good dealer support. Think I remember seeing something about a dealer bulletin on late model KLR's using excessive oil. You might look / search for it to keep handy just in case.

fuel petcock problems

Had an unpleasant experience today when the fuel petcock outlet spigot (where the hose to the carb connects) popped out. Could have been worse I suppose. Does anyone know what is supposed to hold this thing in? Something with such a potential for serious problems should, in my mind, have a positive means of locking in place. I can't see anything there - am I missing something? Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks Hal in Halifax
