The OEM plates are the same as in one of the Ninja models (not sure of displacement) so they are plenty stout for the KLR. I did use an EBC clutch kit in one of my earlier KLRs and had no complaints about that one either though I don't recall the specific model number. I only replaced the clutch because I abused the hell out of it on a muddy dual sport ride somewhere along the way. It's not easy to smoke the stock clutch but it is possible. ;') da Vermonster

Hey Bogdan, at 71,000 miles, are you still running the same balancer chain/ cam chain that came on it? I understand some with high milage replace theirs. Criswell
