GPS is great, isn't it? So accurate..... I added a very real photo at the link below. Check out the max speed after a weekend ride on a DL1000.  lol eddie   PS: Went through a long overpass and the GPS lost it's signal. Once I reappeared on the other side, it must've calculated I went X distance in just Y speed and arrived at the figure depicted above. Still, it did surprise me. =)

I had mine on one of those TGV trains in France. 186 mph a land speed record (for me). Criswell

After I finished my Alaska/ YT/ NWT/ AB and BC trip, my GPS said I'd gone just under 300 km/hr.... Yah - right...! Ed

loss of power at speed

Post by Mark Harfenist » Tue Mar 02, 2010 4:30 pm

Just another possibility to consider:  I had similar symptoms, thought intermittent, when a baffle in my muffler broke loose and created excess backpressure.  Several mechanics missed this completely, and the one who noticed hadn t really checked into it until I asked Why do I hear a clunking noise sometimes when I start it up....?   After confirming that the muffler wasn t dented or otherwise abused, Kawasaki replaced it under my extended warranty at about 50k miles.  I was astounded. Hope that helps. Mark (from Quellon, Chile, where some of the ATM s don t work and there are long lines at the airline agencies, but life is otherwise unremarkable)
