tires...tubeless or tube?

Hello all. I am a new 650 owner (2 weeks!) and love it. I am tall at 6'5" and find the bike still too small for me. Any tips out there from fellow tall guys that I should consider? I will use it mostly for secondary hwys and forest service roads in and around the southern Rocky Mountains. I will first adjust the handlebars up and also considering a bar riser kit. I also plan on getting a stiffer spring for the rear suspension. Anybody know what I can do for the front suspension? I am 260 lbs. Also...the bike has 9100kms on it. I have the doohickey kit. Scott you have me by a few inches so I can appreciate the heigth situation. I purchased a set of lowering block for the front pegs to give me more leg room. I also replace the rear spring with a stiffer one (kept the OEM shock). Replace the front springs with progressive. You should consider the bar risers. On my 08 the bar risers would also put the bars closer to me... This I don't desire. You may have an earlier model that has a different configeration the the bar mounts. Good luck, keep us posted.. Howdy Scott, I'm the same height as you. I heartily recommend the RL-1 raising links that are best located via Arrowhead Motorsports. They are easily installed and make the bike 1.5" taller. I am a little over 6 ' 3 " and I weigh in at 280 lbs. I just purchased Proggressive Springs, and a Top Gun 8 Kg spring. I am hoping this will compensate for my weight, and long legs. What are the RL 1 risers? Rick (swamp dweller) A17

You are probably familiar with "lowering links" which sell well for shorter riders, and a longer link actually lowers the bike. In the RL-1 (and RL-2) case, these are "raising links" and actually raise the bike as they are shorter than the factory links. They are manufactured by Eagle Mike and have a lifetime guarantee if I remember correctly. They have the added bonus of changing the suspension geometry with deflection, and effectively stiffen up the rear springrate. So they're popular with taller riders because of not only the taller bike, but the increased rear suspension springrate as tall riders usually bring extra mass to the party. Hope this helps.
