vendor friday rules ?
I should sleep on my "venting" messages before I send them. Especially at
12:00 am. Like you, John, I am home with ill child AND sicker than a dog
myself. Add to that 2 hours of sleep since 6 am YESTERDAY morning, I get a
little snippy. I apologize that I took Gavin's post personally, but I did.
BUT! If someone asks where I feel they may best find a part or product, I
will offer my opinion just the same as everyone else.

I take full credit for initiating another string of messages about
satisfaction with Happy Trails products. I felt I had something
relevant to add to the singularity (my opinion) and posted it post
haste. My perception was that vendors were to make an effort to not
blatantly advertise on days other than Fridays, and that their ads
needed an NKLR Vendor Friday in the subject. My post was in
reference to HT products as purchased for and installed on my KLR and
other non-HT products a local KLR owner had in his grimy mitts. If
people aren't going to post messages such as mine, or Andy's
helpful/insightful/inciteful posts referencing the family business on
any days but Fridays (I'm now an HT shill of sorts too, I guess),
then I will probably only end up filtering everything but Friday
posts because this is where I go to learn about the gear. If
somebody makes a set of racks/widgets/whatever that is as good as,
nearly as good as or better than the Happy Trails stuff, I want to
know about it. For now, though, it looks like the HT stuff is the
best value for the KLR, which happens to be the best value in
motorcycles, imho.
Sorry for the rant. I'm home ill with an ill child and not in a very
good mood...
Peace and love to all...
John

Me too since Tim picked up my breakfast check in Moab. The again I'm easy.
BTW Rev. Tim blessed motorcycles one Sunday morning at at least one of the
rallies. Since he's a Protestant he did this without holy water - pretty
impressive.

I seem to recall a recent string of messages about the many salutary
features of Oxtar Infinity boots. Which was fine by me (except when I went
to buy a pair and they were all gone, that is!) If someone thinks a product
or vendor is great, I'd like to know about it on Monday through Thursday,
not just on Friday. I'll rely on my finely tuned b*******t meter to
separate any spam from legit endorsements.

It's nice to know who's related to who when it matters. Me, I'm just
related to the cee oh two in my tires - I go faster that way.

Hi Andy, Since I started this, I would like you to know that I wish no ill will against you personally or Happy Trails. That it why I tried to do it as a non personal message, I think Mark Van Horn best expressed my point of view, you were very clear about your familial connections and to me as it progressed there lies the rub. Because your wife works for the business (msg # 149104) there is more of a vendor angle to it (to my mind). Your opinion on all matters is valued, please feel free to continue to express them, it is a free world after all and I was just expressing mine> Gavin, > > I do apologize that I have offended you. vendor friday rules ?
I just came inside from running one of my other "thumpers". It is called
a snow blower and we are a long way from 73 deg here, (near Edmonton,
Alberta). My neighbours appreciate it too, especially the one with a
husband in Afghanistan.
My HAPPY TRAILS are pretty well cleared of snow now.

BTW - this has nothing to do with Andy, or Happy Trails. Disclosure -
I'm a supplier to Happy Trails.
I think some listers might be surprised by some of the reality of
vendor tactics and antics. The vast majority of vendors treat the list
with respect, and act within "the rules". On the other hand.....If you
ever receive (or have received) an email off list, offering
superlatives about a certain company - well, here's hoping your
bulls*%t meter is calibrated. Sometimes they have a made up name,
sometimes no name as a signature. To me, if the name isn't there,
true, available, etc - it's bulls*&t!
Happy Friday!
all the best,
Mike (not afraid to sign my name)

jt sprockets and lowering links for sale
I have JT part numbers JTF 516.15 and JTF 516.14 that I got by mistake. They
fit 87-89 KLR's These are brand new and never used, I tried to put them on
but since I have a 93 they would not bolt on. $30.00 for the pair shipped or
$17.00 each shipped to the U.S.
I also still have some 2" Happy Trails lowering links $60.00 shipped.
