I have Collett Electronics' Bass Monster's. They are located in Winnipeg, Canada I think. I have 2 sets 1-ARAI Quantum, 1-Beiffe MX-300.  I know Aerostich sells them too.  I just a standard Walkman. I prefer Panasonic over Sony just because the headset jack solder joints seem to last longer.  And I don't work for any of these companies. For boosting the output try the boostaroo in the Aerostich catalog.  I bought mine at WALMART in 1997 or do.   Since I fly for a living in loud Naval aircraft I cannot say it enough wear earplugs!!!!  We also have radio sets and when using earplugs the audio comes through but the noise of the aircraft does not.  Try it, it also cuts way down on the wind noise. Brett-     You may want to check out Koss' THE PLUG... They are earplug style headphones... check out http://www.headwize.com/projects/cmoy4_prj.htm this describes modding them to fit your fav earplugs. These hit some of the beeg touring bike lists awhile ago, and people seem to like them once they fit them to their favorite earplugs. If I ever go music route on my ride, I will probably use these as it doesn't make sense to wear earplugs and have to have the speakers cranked up to hear them over the earplugs. These are relatively inexpensive as well, about $19.95 if I remember correctly. Reports of vast sound improvement after the mod have been heard. Haven't heard much about the sound at 70mph+, but perhaps this might be the solution for you... If you do go this route please let me know, I would be interested to hear how it works out.   ---- Zack SE DC 1991 KLR650 "Buster" 1986 Concours

Hi Brett: I have a 40 second anti-skip personal portable CD-AM-FM Radio. It and the mini speakers are rechargeable battery operated. The speakers are for campsite sharing of music, in case I meet any girls who want to party. I have earbuds for personal listening pleasure on or off the bike and a neoprene fanny pack sort of carrier. I have the capability to recharge all sizes of Nickel Metal Hydride batteries from 12v DC, 120v AC or 220v AC. I like music. assymetric rotor holes

Post by jody@ticketmaster.com » Tue Jan 16, 2001 3:30 pm

Hello friends, It is my understanding (from working on racecars and bikes etc.. FWIW) That drilled brake rotors are done for 3 reasons. 1. To prevent dust buildup between the pad and rotor during heavy braking. 2. To facilitate cooling of the brake rotor (more surface area) 3. To reduce the rotating mass of the rotor (stops quicker? but I doubt by vary much considering the weight of the tire and rim compared to the small amount of material removed by the holes) The holes are drilled assymetrically to reduce weak spots in the rotor that would allow cracking. If you drilled 3 holes directly across the radius you would have very little material left in that small cross section. Many of the performance brake suppliers Wildwood, etc are no longer drilling all the way through their rotors. They are just making small dimples which gives the same benefits. They also make these dimples in an assymetrical pattern. Just my 4 1/2 cents worth. Jody A15 "skruffy"
