I vote for Sgt Marty Diagrams out and cautions at the critical moments/critical points. He also shows where the all the pain in the ass shims/washers go. http://www.sgtmarty.klr650.net/SgtMarty_doohickey_swap/SgtMarty_Doohickey_Procedure.html There are more detailed instructions for beginners but I found Sgt. Marty's the most useful. J#3

Thanks. I'll check into it when/if I decide to do it. I"m thinking about getting a new 2011. Has it been decided whether or not Kawasukki has done a factory fix on the new ones so we don't have to worry about this? My buddy bought a DR650 just because of the doohicky. don a17 [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

From what I gather, Kawi finally did an OK job on the doohickey but not the spring. So, you should still go in there before 10K miles and put in the torsion spring. J#3
