nklr purchasing '05 klr ,service required mileage for valve
The following might be best read when sitting in a full lotus position,
although my hip arthritis now prevents it.
"The study of the art of motorcycle maintenance is really a miniature study
of the art of rationality itself. Working on a motorcycle, working well,
caring, is to become part of a process, to achieve an inner peace of
mind. The motorcycle is primarily a mental phenomenon." -- Robert M.

I need at least one inner Fork Tube for my 2005 KLR650. If someone
has one for sale... please e-mail me. Thanks.

Does anyone know what kind of motorcycle Pirsig rode during the adventures described in the book ? He didn't saw specifically; I thought it was a Triumph. His buddy that rode a bike known for its reliability rode - I assumed - a BMW. Bogdan> Pirsig, Zen and The Art of Motorcycle Maintenance > > Don

A 1964 SuperHawk. More at http://www.zmmquality.org/> including some actual pictures from his trip. If you 'know' the storyline the pictures can really add some visual information about what the trip was like.
I'm a student of the work, having read it about twenty times, and as such I've gotten to the point where I'm comfortable talking about Pirsig's trip, his situation, and his possible motives. I only bring this up because I believe that, were Pirsig taking his trip today, he'd likely choose a KLR (and I'm a Honda guy).

Zen, being much older then Triumph, would leave Pirsig possibly on a
Harley. It fits. His friend was probably on a Hodaka. Perhaps both could be
an erroneous assumption. Maybe not.
