My score so far is one of them. Because Joe Curto did such a great job on
my carb rebuild, the slow run returns with vigor!

Re: 30 light
I, too, have seen the 30 light work, and I remember it well - it was on top of a squad car in a 20 zone.

Re: 30 light
John,

Those squad cars also have 78 lights and 84 lights and 92 lights. I haven't
 seen any 114 lights.....so far.

group, has anyone ever actually been stoped for speeding in one of these
cars? what an ego boost. if i did i think that i would just have to get my
picture taken with the officer. 1250 miles to florida and back, and the only
vehicle i passed was a combine. cheers, charlie

Re: 30 light
Yeah, I did once. Officer told judge I was driving 'fast on a twisty road'
(image that!). NOT ON INTERSTATE. Then he said I turned onto a hill and
went up at 60. I told the Judge the car only has 50 horsepower, won't outrun
a VW beetle, it won't DO 60 up that hill, even with a running start. Since
that is the only place the officer defined my speed in numbers (twisty part
was just 'fast') [took that as a credit to my Stirling Moss imitation,
remember him?] Judge gave officer an evil look, dismissed case.

Re: 30 light
G'day Charlie,

 Yes, I'm proud to say...
Got pulled over doing over 95kph (so the man said)in a 70 zone.
He was pretty much a grumpy example of the law as he pulled out his
 book.
I asked him if he'd be kind enough to write the estimated speed in BIG
letters so I could show my local MG clubmembers what the Tickford could
do with her skirts up. He laughed and told me to bugger-off, with a
 warning!
 Nice bloke after all.

Re: 30 light
Well.................!
Got me to wondering about the date. So, here I am looking at it.
South Carolina State Highway Patrol "WARNING"
 Warning Number: J 044999
 Date: Feb 13, 1998
Offensive Code: 21 (Too fast for condition or speeding
Nature of Violation: Speeding - 79 MPH

I framed that one and its hanging in my living room next to the picture of
me and my TC. Once I was stopped on the Frontage Road alongside
Highway 85 in Greenville, SC we got to talking (The deputy and I). Next
thing I knew there were four of them all interested in seeing for themselves
 my car.
I certainly did the best my sweet talking that day! Showed them the engine,
the 30 Light switch and what it does. Acting totally amazed as I had just
rebuilt the Carbs and just testing the car to see what she would do. All
that wearing, yep! Brown Leather Jacket, Scarf, Gloves, Leather flying
Helmet and Goggles. I certainly was a nostalgic sight! At least that was
what the arresting officer said. He just had to stop me! Well, at least it
 was a ticket!
This was just around the corner from my house! Three hours late I
arrived home to a concerned wife who thought I had broken down! But,
someday when I finish my book you can hear the whole story.
