Yesterday while riding in the Sierra's on my KLR I ran into a guy with a 2015 KLR 650 he just picked up brand new, Immediately put about $2000 in Farkles on the bike, crash guards, skid plate, hard boxes, basically ordered a lot of stuff for the bike from Twisted throttle.
Well, he had had the bike a couple weeks, was very upset as the bike was not ride-able do to the vibration. He saw my Alaska Plates ask how I could ride that far. We talked a while. He went home and got his bike. Enough that he chased me down and we spoke in a parking lot and he wanted to feel my fuel tank with the bike running. The dealer said it was normal that at idle the tank would slap your hand repeatedly.
Bike actually shook, you could hear the cam chains slapping, also he could not turn the bars (all still stock) all the way to one side as the clutch cable would get hung up. Checked it out, the clutch cable is mis-routed and cannot clear the bracket for the head light and fairing. This the dealer also said was normal.
Here is a guy that paid cash for a new bike, he has taken it in 3 times in the couple weeks he has had it, and is miserable. Apparently, Kawi still can't fix the Doo... and either they or the dealer cannot assemble the bikes correctly. The build quality fit and finish is worse then my 08 and 09... Sad
I really don't get it, this guy had his last bike almost 20 years, just got tired of kick starting it, Goes out and buys a new bike, lots of accessories, and now is sour on the bike and actually on riding. I got him information on the California Lemon Law, and on how to contact Kawasaki Directly Monday. Hope they can fix this.

I hope the guy is able to obtain satisfaction. Is there another dealer in any reasonable distance?
There are many, many people who have bought new bikes and been happy. Returning to the same dealer who seems not to resolve the issues seems not productive.
Contacting Kawasaki will allow them the opportunity to address the issues, and hopefully they will do so, beginning with a proper diagnosis of the problem. It seems premature to conclude that the Doohickey is the problem. The balancer timing may be incorrect, crankshaft balance factor incorrect, endless speculation....

He's confirmed that Gum Out eats that diaphragm, just in case someone wonders.

That list of parts is pretty darn good and handy too. Thanks for sharing it. Under oil filters I like and use EMGO 10-30000 oil filters. They come in individual boxes or a box of 10 individual boxes. In the states they can be order through Parts Unlimited which serves almost all decent motorcycle shops. Even my local Harley dealer uses Parts Unlimited. For the petcock I've been told these work but haven't verified. Selector lever o-ring. You suggest a #19. I have been told #18. Petcock to tank #125 If the petcock is replaced or converted to manual the carb vacuum nipple takes a 3/16" cap. 2015 with a bad doo
I think I answered this to you directly, apparently hit the wrong button and did not put it on the group.
He is from Near Murpheys, but he bought the bike at a dealership in Tracy, California I did not talk to him long enough to get the exact name or I don't remember it. Only have met him once while I was on the road, I will update everyone if I hear from him again, I gave him my email we will see.
