tires
Reading a lot RE: tires. I have Bridgestone's Trail Wings. I had them on for the entire trip up North. Just put on a new one, REAR, for the trip to Copper Canyon.

I have nothing to compare to but have not read anything on the list re: the tires.
 Any input is welcome.

I also have Trailwings -- TW21 front, TW22 rear. I have about four
thousand miles on them now, and they seem to be wearing very well -- seems
like there's more than four thousand miles left in them. For mostly
asphalt and some gravel they're great. The rear in particular is very
nice, and hooks up off road much better than the tread pattern would
suggest. The front is pretty scary in powdery dirt. I wouldn't go near
mud if I could avoid it.

tires
I have a KLR 600 that I use while working (Game Warden) and have decided to start looking for tires for the spring.

The terrain here is rather hilly, and is a nice mix of clay and rock. So it is either really slick and soupy or really hard.
There are USFS ATV trails and reclaimed strip mines, with miles of gravel roads and no high speed roads. Blacktop riding is usually limited to 2 lane roads to go from trail to trail..

I am looking for an aggressive tire that does not really need to be DOT rated..

 Any suggestions?

Also, I am still looking for a turn signal switch, but it isn't really important, as I have had the turn signals removed for the last year..

tires
I went back to dualsport tires. Even though my Kenda Challengers wore great, 16,000 front 10,000 rear and not yet at wear bar. I received a great deal at Cycle Gear they matched Chaparral prices and no shipping. I put on IRC gp110's. Any one using these tires mainly on street? They sure are lighter and more responsive than The Challengers. They feel real good. My gas mileage problem seems to be solved. It was the California Smog equipment Valve not working, Thanks for those who helped with the solution. TC

tires
Hi all,

Can somebody help me by suggesting what type (brands) of tires would
be a good solution for KLR regarding quality and price, I'm now
trying to decide between Enduro 3 Sahara, TW42-41, TW22-21, K750
(stock) or combinations. I want to keep the same 50/50 percentage, or
 around it.
With the stock I've made 12000km up to now and probably I'll put
another 1000km on them (~7000 on road, rest off-road logging roads
and trails). Is this less or is much?
Any suggestion or comment will be very helpful.

 Thank you very much,

 Ionut

tires
I recently purchased a used (1400 mi) 00 klr 650 and plan to replace the maxxis to a more street orientated 80/20 tire.
Read good things about Bridgestone TW21/22 so I ordered a set. When I received them today they sent a TW 41 and the TW22.
Any opinions about the TW21 vs the TW41 for the front tire? May keep it if no real negatives.
 Thanks

tires
Hi All

Recently mounted Kenda 270's on the KLR. They work ok with reduced
pressures. Decent on road and off to some degree. (22 front 28 rear)

Pumped them up to recommended pressure 32/38 and they handle real
 squirrelly on pavement and off.

Would appreciate the wisdom (????:)) of the list on what pressures to
run on extended highway travel. Specfically I am riding from NC to the
Mississippi River to began riding the Trans America Trail though
Arkansas. So riding from here is about 800 miles of highway.

Do not want to run pressure to low and let heat build and have a
problem, but don't want to run too high of a pressure and not have good
 control of the bike.

 Any suggestions.

 Thanks
 Kenn
