exhaust sheild?

Post by mark ward » Wed Mar 06, 2013 4:37 pm

A Preemptive Question. While TRYING to take out the screws, one screw looks stripped, So not sure how the "nut" is. The other screw finaly snapped off. (after 20+ minutes of working it. Hot cold etc.) While some have said , just cut off the old nuts and weld new, I worry about alignment of 2 nuts being just right. Has anyone tryed, drilling out the holes, the weld NEW NUTS ON TOP OF THE OLD? I'm thinking, While it WILL, bring the shield out about 1/4 inch, I would have them in alignment using the old stumps as guides. START THE THREAD NOW... LOL Thanks ahead.
