led aux. lights
Yep, and the Model 30 at $60 each is as bright (1,500 lumens) or brighter than all those expensive ones.
The Model 44 at 2,000 lumens and the Model 60 at 3,600 lumens will sear your retinas! But they still use relatively low power because they are LED's. Get the rotary dimmer with the high beam bypass for them...

klr 650 comfort seat
I have had Corbin dished, Corbin flat, KLR stock with gel insert on previous KLR's, None were as comfortable as the Seat Concept seat that I put on my 09 KLR. I find it even more comfortable than the Rick Meyer seat that I had on my R1200GS.
And the price is 1/2 of the others.

Long Distance Saddle Posted by: "SeaTigerGo@..." mailto:seatigergo@...?Subject= Re%3A%20Long%20Distance%20Saddle seatigergo Wed Jun 20, 2012 9:19 am (PDT) Howdy folks. I do a lot of long distance riding with lots of gear (I am a performer and a reenactor) and am looking for a comfortable long distance utility saddle, if such a thing exists. I have actually toyed with the idea of modifying a treeless endurance saddle (horse saddle) but would would really rather buy a made saddle with support and padding for my 6'1" broad frame and even broader A$$. Right now I get about an hour and a half before I start doing the KLR mamushka. If I could double that, I'd be happy. Any ideas... The perfect world saddle would also have more tie points for gear, I don't carry passengers unless I have to. Thanks. Jim (but most people call me... Wed Jun 20, 2012 10:19 am (PDT) I'd try the Coleman ATV cover first. And if you need more than that, the Seat Concepts kit is the best value. It's a do it yourself but all you'll need is a heavy duty stapler than can be bought cheap at Harbor Freight. They only cost $160. These are every bit as good as the Corbin and Sargeant seats at half the price. http://seatconcepts.com/products#ecwid:category=1671354&mode=category&offset=0&sort=normal ____________ _________ _________ __ From: Jeff Khoury To: "mailto:SeaTigerGo%40yahoo.com" Cc: DSN KLR650 Sent: Wednesday, June 20, 2012 12:09 PM Subject: Re: [DSN_KLR650] Long Distance Saddle The best bang-for-the- buck is the Coleman ComfortRide ATV Seat cover. Gen 1 seats 88-07 are different composition than Gen 2 seats, 08+. Personally, I think the Gen 1 seat is miserable for anyone over 160#. YMMV. We just did a seat exhange at my house on Sunday, so maybe this will be helpful. My 16 y/o, now 6'1" and 180 lbs complained the 2001 seat was killing him at 75 miles; previously he had ridden 200+ miles at a time withut difficulty = 5'10 and 160#. We switched to a Gen 2 seat I bought earlier and he remarked that it was much better. That is the short eval of 25 miles. We shall see later next week on an all day ride. The Corbin flat seat is much better for the 'larger' person; though he did not care for it quite yet. I like mine. When new, they are quite hard and take a while to break in. revmaaatin. --- In mailto:DSN_KLR650%40yahoogroups.com, "SeaTigerGo@ ..." wrote: > > Howdy folks. Re: Long Distance Saddle Posted by: "Jud" mailto:judjonzz@...?Subject= Re%3A%20Long%20Distance%20Saddle judjonzz Wed Jun 20, 2012 11:42 am (PDT) Roger Lovin quotes an old middle eastern proverb that goes something like :"Tend carefully to your ass, for it bears you." A custom seat is one way, but they cost a lot. There are a lot of cheaper alternatives, from wooden beads, to sheepskin, to the Wally World seat cushion, to Honey Buns (or whatever they are called) a cordura cover that holds a couple of big pop bottles that support your inner thighs. I have not tried these last ones, but legendary adventure tourer and cheapskate Charlie Coons swears by them. Wooden beads and sheepskin are an improvement over the stock seat, but not as good as a dished Corbin, which in turn is not as good as a flat Corbin. The Meyer/Russell widebody seats are probably going to be the most comfortable, but I gather you don't like the price. Remember, you only pay for a good seat once. Otherwise you pay all day long every day. --- In mailto:DSN_KLR650%40yahoogroups.com, "SeaTigerGo@ ..." wrote: > > Howdy folks. He wanted a more street tire! Didn't quite understand that since the stockers do fine on street though the rears wear out fast. I grabbed em at that price. They were still wrapped in original packing. I brought the rear wheel/tire to MC/Tire in Sepulveda, CA. They charged me $20 despite my taking the old tire with me and my telling them that I would static balance myself at home. I still have the original 2005 wheel bearings with 38K on them. I cleaned out the rear wheel bearings from the sides that I could get to the best I could with a rag and WD40. Then forced in waterproof grease. The old bearings seemed fine. How long do rear wheel bearings last if you take care of them? If your system tips-over when you travel, then you are doing something 'wrong' or outside of routine. Make traveling-meals as clsoe to normal without loading up on junk food, etc. One thing I suspect, is you are not drinking enough WATER. At a minimum 1 gallon a day while riding long distance. Kidney pain is/can be associated with poor fluid flow as well as poor posture. I try to drink a gallon of water a day and build/load my luggage so it can provide back support as well. What may seem like kidney pain, can also be the onset of pneumonia in your lungs. When I travel, I carry 4 qt canteens or (sic) camel back for 1 gallon of water. I 'try' to drink only distilled water, available ~$1 +/- gallon; (a little more at a C store), filling the camel back/canteens with the cleanest water available. Distilled water contains no floride or chlorine. Having 4qts of capacity lets me buy a gallon of water and top off all the containers. If there is a little left over, clean your visor with it. You should NOT eat anything that routinely upsets your stomach, such as the hot howling pina's peppers at the Subway. shrug. Food such as bacon/processed lunch meats contain nitrates and that can make your kidneys, guts tip-over as well, expecially if you get behind on the water intake. I am a traveling fan of SUBWAY; chicken breast (no nitrates) loaded with all the vegtables (no hot peppers); this combination is the traveling dual sport riders friend. Easy on the stomach and keeps you regular. revmaaatin. --- In mailto:DSN_KLR650%40yahoogroups.com, mark ward wrote: > > Ok we already established theres alot of OLD guys on list, so. > I looking for answers to health symtoms. Another place had them for nearly 1/3 the price of Fred's but only for older models. After 22K they are almost paper thin. Gotta do something soon. Got the Shrinko tire mounted on the rear. It was tough. Gave up and took it to the shop and let them use their machine to put it on. Nevertheless, I'm well satisfied with this tire. It looks good, has lots of tread (about 3/4 in), seems to drive well and not too expensive.
