Hey all
Back in Jan. I oops, and grabed a bag out of the basement, based on temp's to find it was for a skinny person, with BROAD shoulders i could not fully zip it shut. (and temps in Death valley at night were in the low 30's.....OOPS
Looking for a new LARGER bag I found BIG AGNES, has a few with room to turn or move arms about. (many say they have the BIGGEST/WIDEST bags)
The biggest thing is, they also have "WEDGIE'S", A bag expander, adds 7inchs at the top.
as the name "Wedgie" implies, it is a wedge shape, 7inchs down to 1?+- .
I would THINK!!!, it fits other brands, being you must pick the zipper size, (listed on most tabs) 60 or 70 YKK
I was told at a few stores BIG AGNES has the largest, ROOMEST bag avalible, Plus the wedgie.

Marrk,
You might give Cabela's a look, I've noted several oversized bags there over the years...some were tapered, some retangle.
I have a REI down bag called the "Fat Cat" and another called "Syn Cat" that are oversized, but they are out of production and REI now handles the Big Agnes line for oversized bags.
Possibly of interest to you - Big Agnes makes some bags that instead of having the usual poly or down insulation in the bottom layer, has a built in pocket designed for holding an insulated sleeping mat/pad. This significantly reduces the packed size of the bag and since much of the ground insulation comes from the pad anyway, it may be a lighter weight option for an otherwise larger bag.
It might also be worth checking one of the military contract vendors like "Wiggies" and whomever makes their multi bag system for extreme cold weather. I think I've seen those in catalogs from places like Brigade Quartermaster.
Let me know what you find, mine's gonna wear out some day...

Have a look at Campmor online as well. They have several size large / long bags, and IIRC the search engine lets you add that in. Their specifications are pretty complete as to bag sizes and so on, and they have a useful reviews section as well, that are worth a lot.
I've bought bags and bag liners from them before, been pretty satisfied. BTW, a microfleece liner can add a 10 or 12 degrees to the bag's rating, if you can find the right size. And easier to keep the bag smelling fresh.
I also use the liner as a bag in warm weather.
