cam chain question

Post by snowcrash007 » Sun Mar 11, 2012 12:27 pm

I did my valve adjust and put everything back together. Just lifted up the cams enough to slide the shim in and out, did not take the chain off. I put everything backtogether, tightened it up , put the cam chain tensioner back in. It turns over by hand, valve specs are good. When bothers me is looking down at the engine, the rear wheel and nut seem pretty close to the side of the engine, the front one has more clearance. Once the cam camps are in place and tightened, it would appear to me there can only be one right way to do it. The chain is on the teeth, the guides on and looks good to me. I found this picture at marknets sight, and you can see the rear nut is closer than the front, the way mine looks now. http://www.klr650.marknet.us/abysspic.jpg First time in the engine so I just want to make sure its supposed to be like this.
