non-klr small engines
For those who work on small engines.
I have a Honda (over head cam) push/self propell lawnmower (4+- yr's) that all seemed fine,
Then it started smoking bad, and back fired when restarting.
I wasn't using it the last hr of use, but from a short distance (working on bikes in the garrage. ) I did not notice any noise change before that.
My first GUESE would be rings?

I would have to check with the "boss lady" to see what gas can she used.
The mix can, has a Black ziptie on the handle, (black for oil) but she may have not thought about it.
What about the Backfiring? Never happened before with this unit.

My wife once put premix into our mower, after that I used a marks a lot to write "2 stroke only" on the weed eater gas can.
She did it again, and when I complained to her she said "how am I supposed to know how many strokes a mower has?"
To give her credit, there has been 2 stroke mower engines in the past...wait, didn't Honda make those?

I used to run premix in my 4 stroke Briggs and Stratten all the time. Heck of a machine. Only had 3 wheels as one fell off. Hit a few bricks covered up by weeds with no I'll effects. I don't think I ever changed the oil on it. A Honda mower is a little more high Tech.
Speaking of small engines, I think my 4 horse Merc 2 stroke boat motor has a water pump impeller that is out from the way it is acting. Anybody ever do this and is it a big deal?

non-klr small engines
Best push mower I ever had I bought on sale from the local Piggly
Wiggly grocery store. $40.00 I think I paid. It lasted about 8
years until finally the wheels wouldn't stay on it any more. Never did
change the oil, just added a little once and a while of what ever I had on
hand. Reminds me of my KLR, except I change my oil in my KLR. 46,000 miles
and going strong.

non-klr small engines
Does it have a rear water discharge port ? Could be a bug made a nest pluging it.
Has a lower unit I assume, not sure about that small model.
To change the impeller its pretty straight forward once you separate the lower unit. Its a Rubber starwheel that rotates in a cup, seen fairly new units all wore out when the operator likes running sand and mud through it.
Kits were like $50, just the wheel maybe $30 (been awhile)
