how do i straighten my radiator fins?

been riding without my armoured jacket or with it open in the Socal heat. Damn...even when they bounce off they get me! When they get caught in my clothing it is 3 or 4 bites...so must be mostly wasps but boy they can bite quickly! J#3

My brother and I rode through a swarm of bees last summer. There were lots of black-and-yellow splotches all over our gear and face shields. Yet another reason to ATGATT. I don't care how hot it is, I wear at LEAST jeans with boots, armored jacket, gloves and a full-face helmet. I have pants but I am guilty of skipping them frequently. I'm trying to do better.

He knew he wasn't going to get out of it alive, so he decided to spend his remaining energy into putting out as much sting as possible, while I tried to pull over and get my helmet off as fast as possible. LOL! Yep, no pants could end up being very bad, and is likely illegal in most states. When I was teen I was notprious for riding to the store (or whereever) in tennis shoes, shorts and a button up shirt. One day while on a mission for my mother, to retrieve something from the local S&H green stamps store (remember those?), I had a bald-faced hornet nail me in the center of my chest. By the time I got home, I did complete my mission, my chest was badly inflamed and swollen and hurting something serious. I think my mom thought I might die, bu with ice and sauve it finally eased up. Then 3-4 years ago, while riding home on my Connie I caught a yellow-jacket just below my right eye. I had on Sunglasses but had my face shield open. That one hurt something serious too and my eyed nealy swelled shut before I got home. Damn bees and wasps indeed. When I was in high school I had a Jeep CJ-7. One day my girlfriend was driving it and I was in the passenger side. It had a vent that blew air right up your crotch, and she was wearing shorts. Suddenly she braked hard, pulled over on the shoulder, set the parking brake, jumped out and dropped her shorts on the side of the rural western New York road. A bee had flown up her shorts and before I figured out what was going on she was jumping around in her panties on the side of the road. When I was about 14 I was chillin at home one Oklahoma summer day. I was reading a book in my bedroom when I heard my mom scream like she was being murdered. I jumped off the bed and ran into her room where I found her dancing like a marionette in her underwear. She had left her pants on the floor while she showered, and a scorpion had taken a liking to them. By the time she got out of her pants, she had 5 nasty stings down her inner thigh. Note to self, don't leave your clothes on the floor in scorpion country.

I plan to buy the tool, but I've already tried the screwdriver and you're right it is difficult. Maybe I'm approaching it wrong, I was trying to open up the air passages from the front-which is the side with the damage. The aluminum fins are so soft I was doing more harm than good. their finger down the row of fins and made it so no air can pass thru. I estimate about 1/8 of the radiator is blocked like this. The screened guard was missing but I have a replacement one on the way that I bought on FleaBay. Is there a tool like you can get at Home Depot for straightening AC fins? Am I going overboard worrying about them? I do live in Texas where it gets over 100 degrees regularly...
