I noticed a new kit is avail. for 490 dollars with-- The FORGED piston kit is made by CP Pistons (www.cp-carrillo.com for more info on their quality). The piston kit is at 9.5:1 stock compression, has been custom forged to be 50 grams lighter than a stock piston. The piston is supplied with rings, clips and wrist pin. The 685 Shnitz oversized kit is 290 dollars without the barrel/cylinder. The low mile used kits without gaskets on that auction site are around 350 dollars thought I don't recommend buying a used 08 kit. My 04 doesn't smoke much at all but is starting to use oil. I will probably go with the Carrillo kit within 20k more miles. When you add the barrel machining of at least $100...it seems quicker and easier to just get this new Carrillo kit. Though I would have to wait for valve job machining work. Carrillos seem to work fine in Porsches. The used kits on that auction site seem overpriced esp. since there is no warranty and some of the sellers are dubious. J#3

I searched and didn't find this discussed before. Has anyone bought this? Looks interesting; it converts your rear turn signals to running lights (amber) and additional brake lights (red) using LED's that install into your existing turn signal housings.
