Rick- No personal knowledge, but I've been shopping batteries. Specs, warranty and price look good by my comparison shopping. It's bigger than the stock Yuasa per the Yuasa site) by 1mm in width and 1mm in height. I have no idea if that matters. Here's a $66 "Scorpion" AGM with almost the same specs (eg, 2 fewer amp hours), free ground delivery in the lower 48, no tax: http://www.batterystuff.com/powersports-batteries/sYTX14AHL-BS.html -JWF [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

When I was stuck, I decided on a lark to check the local auto parts store. Lo and behold they had a regular acid ttype and a "sealed" type listed in their computer for the KLR, both in stock. The sealed one is AGM, comes already charged and ready to install. Its labeled "EXTREME Magna Power" from Power Sports Battery company and so far it seems to be OK . especially holding a charge in hot weather for long periods of time. -- charlie

It was Advance Auto parts Store. The AGM was $77, but they gave me $6 bucks for the old battery, too. Which is a lot, but like I said, I didn't want to waste the whole Memorial Day Weekend not riding... -- charlie

I got a nice AGM from Advanced Battery Systems right around the corner from my house. It was sixty-ish bucks, works great and they gave me a discount because I work for UCLA (they supply a lot of battery products to the university). They're very knowledgeable and helpful. http://www.advancedbatterysystems.com/

2010 klr low fender?

Post by tlz4u@aol.com » Sun Aug 28, 2011 4:09 pm

I lowered the stock front fender on my 2002 KLR by drilling and tapping holes in my K-9 fork brace that matched the mounting holes already in the fender. I used 3/4 inch spacers (and longer bolts) to lift the fender off the tire and used 'fender' washers to spread the load on the plastic fender. I also had to cut a notch in each side of the fender to clear the lower fork tube. The notches have generous radii (??) in the corners to help prevent further cracking. This cost me almost nothing, and has worked very well for a couple of years and almost 15,000 miles now.
