Date: Tue, 23 Aug 2011 13:03:05 -0700 When i bought my 2004 last year it came with the moose pegs on it and no springs which i thought was dumb, but when you think about it do you need springs! When your riding your feet are always on the pegs so there's always weight on them unless you have highway pegs which i do but have yet to here any rattles from the moose's,hell there's so much wind and engine noise anyway and being three parts "DEEEF" i don't hear a thing anyway, don't know what difference springs might make if you dump the bike,my 2c. The springs are valuable when you are riding off road: Imagine tearing through some deep mud and your foot gets knocked off the peg. No big deal right? Unless you're in some deep mud ruts and the mud clogs the peg. Then the peg doesn't return to it's proper position and when you go to put your foot back on the peg, you miss and either stuff your foot into the mud or accidentally stand on the brake lever/shift lever. All of these scenarios *could* end poorly for your foot/ankle/leg depending on your speed and the terrain... Footpeg return springs, only count when you realize you need them. And they're pretty cheap. da Vermonster - always broke, never without at least 2 cents
