99 klr worth?????

Post by Jud » Mon Jul 11, 2011 9:23 pm

Keep it, and add a bike for more dirt. I have a DR in addition to my KLR. I prefer it for a lot of things, including dirt, Copper Canyon, etc, and I think it's a better bike overall. But the KLR has more room for luggage, camping gear, etc, and I still use it a lot. There's a lot of overlap between the KLR and DR, so the DRZ would probably be a better stable mate. You won't get much for the KLR with that mileage, and remember, he who sells a motorcycle gets money for it. He spends the money, and then he has nothing. He who keeps his motorcycle always has a motorcycle. Besides, what's in your garage, cars? A car already has a roof, so to put it in a garage is a waste of roofage. If you d sell the KLR, undress it and sell the accessories separately. They will add little if anything to the price you get for the bike. And why deny the new owner the pleasure of farkling it as he sees fit.

There isn't anything wrong with my KLR but it does have 54,000 miles. It has a Corbin, Map rotor, stainless brake lines, blade fuse hookup, fancy light switch mirror conversion, year old maintenance free battery, Mefo tires that are close to new, Happy trail saddlebag racks, and hwy pegs with radiator guard. It has a center stand. IMS pegs. Moose bash plate (with battle scars). Re-jetted. Barkbusters and gel grips. I wonder what its value is? Probably be better to take all the add ons off and sell separately??? Just toying around with it. Don't really have to do it. > > Criswell >
