AAA will go to $99,999.00 They will NOT go to a full $100,000 Not sure what the "legal" issue is, but they stop $1. dollar short of the hundred thousand. all other steps are by ten's. ($10,000. $20.000 etc. I have to dig up my papers but they were ALOT cheaper then other Companies I called, while the bike insurance was with in a few dollars. (yes you have to have to CLUB MEMBERSHIP, but I like the Plus RV anyways since I also have a 28ft camper I pull at times. (Also pull a 28ft camper? ..........YA! ..Its one tuff KLR650. LOL)

Any other moto insurance carriers that will cover more than $100,000 medical? I have a friend who had $250,000 in medical insurance but it was from Lloyds of London. Don't know if it was a standard motorcycle insurance policy. BTW, he ended up using all $250,000 because of a bad accident. I am bringing this topic up because I know of more than usual numbers of people injured on motos in the past couple of years. Also, some irate cager tried to hit me but my Oversized contour front rotor saved me. What KLRistas should know is Obamacare is up in the air and we should be covered by healthcare insurance or vehicle insurance or both. Many employers are cutting healthcare coverage. Jeffrey #3

Health care? I have been TOLD, that some medical coverage from Work ETC. doe's NOT cover Motorcycle acidents, ski diving, etc. (High risk hobbies) CHECK before deciding what is enough.

state farm insurance problems with klr

I've had State Farm for the past 15 years and am "satisfied enough". I've also had no claims in that time period and have had no traffic violations in 7+ years. I have 4 insured bikes. I don't have medical coverage, that's taken care of by a different company and policy. (And, yes, I am covered for whatever I do, which includes riding and flying) $27 a month for the '04 KLR $30 a month for the '02 ZRX-1200 ($3 more for a bike that has about 3x the HP!) $28 a month for the '06 KLR which lives in CA (I'm a PA resident) $19 a month for the 250 Super Sherpa I had Allstate before this but had no bikes at the time. I was very unhappy at what Allstate did to me before I bailed out on them: My son was 16 and in a crash in my truck, I had a couple points for speeding, and was fired by Prudential a few years earlier - and the state of PA placed me in the assigned risk group, handing me to Allstate: $6,000 a year. 3 years later, my daughter began driving and despite no more citations, the rate went up again. I called my Allstate rep and asked if I could get a better deal. "You are getting the best rate available", was the response. Turns out that Pennsylvania is one of few states where insurance companies are not required to inform you when you are no longer in the "Assigned Risk" category. Me to Allstate: "You're fired". I went to State Farm and have been with them since. I can probably get a better deal and will shop around eventually but am in no hurry. My only real complaint is that I drive a company car most of the time (insured separately), so my 4 bikes and 2 cars don't get a lot of miles put on them and I don't seem to get much of a discount for that. Also, if I dropped coverage on all but one bike, the cost for that bike wouldn't change much. Mike
