which tool in standard tookit fits 10mm engine sprocket cover fl
The 10mm socket on a 3/8" drive is small enough to do my '06 sprocket cover. I think that a 1/4" drive wrench is too small for routine use on the KLR, especially when using blue loctite / permatex on everything. I'd also consider sticking with 6-pt sockets so there is less chance of rounding highly torqued bolt heads.

A 1/4" drive t-handle is just about ideal for that application. I carry a 1/4" drive socket set 8-13mm, a couple of extensions and a sliding t-handle. I still need a 3/8 breaker bar with a hole for a tommy bar to drive my 14, 17, 19 and 22 mm sockets, plus a 3/8 mini ratchet w. 1/4 adaptor, but all that plus a Versatool with apex bits takes less room and space than a full set of 3/8 sockets plus ratchet and extensions that I used to schlep, and does away with the need to carry screwdrivers (unless you want something to pry and hammer on).
At home in the shop, I rely more on 3/8 drive. About the only call I have for 1/2 drive is for big stuff rarely encountered on a bike except the 27 mm on the chainwheel or in high torque applications like the flywheel rotor.
