nklr: foot off the peg!
Actualy MOTO GP rider Valentino Rossi started the foot off the inside peg entering a corner thing, then there where a few copiers, the reason for this is yet to be determind by commentators or anyone else, the only thing i can think of is it gets a tad more weight to the inside but for the bit that would get you why bother and they don't do it on every corner.

Rev,
It depends on HOW you want to go through the corner. If you want to do it dirty stylee with the back end braking loose, you sit on top of the bike (weighting the outside peg) and keep the foot out so if the bike goes down, it's not on top of you. If you want to maintain traction and ride smoothly through the corner, keep your feet on the pegs and shift your body to the inside of the bike.
That said, I've actually seen Casey Stoner in videos with his leg out as he enters, presumably on the brakes, a corner in GP racing. The foot goes back on the peg before he's too deep into the corner but it's bizarre to see someone use BOTH techniques in the same corner. Must work pretty well though, I hear he does all right in them races.

Yah Rev funny you should bring that up was doing the same myself watching Super Bike that is and it crossed my mind also about lean angle, it always amazes me even after watching all these years how they stay upright, sticky tires help and i ride bikes of course so i know the dynamics involved and no footsies off the pegs with any of them as you say.
I sometimes wonder why they have two classies for bikes which are so close in terms of specs now that GP is 4 stroke, the GP bikes are more exoctic than Super Bikes and don't relate to something the public can buy unlike Super Bikes.
One more thought on Moto GP i wonder why Suzuki & kawasaki cant' seem to get up to speed with there GP program, hell they make some of the fastest street bikes ever made, just a thought.
