The BMW's seemed to hold a line well, but looked like more of a handful...maybe higher cg. Kindof hard to judge difference in the two as there were so many KTM's fielded this year, and many getting coverage in the lead spots. The folks contending are great riders in great shape. That suspension is what makes them great in the Dakar though. Wonder what kind of setup Campbell had going on his Honda.... I've been taping the race & watching when I can. Still no idea who won & don't want to know! I'll keep the blinders on & check it out on tape. side note: I've always followed the Giants, but Ravens defense Really is good (they still think themselves the underdogs), & will find the heart to pull it out. yup The big show's just down the street this Sunday, but the NFL has gobbled up 70% of the tickets & the worst of the rest start at 2k. Most, if not all the BMW were 900RRs so I do think they are heavier overall not just in the cg area. I wondered about Campbell's set up as well. Lundmark crashed out with broken bones in one of the two episodes I watched last night (I've been taping the entire coverage.) He and the Finn have really been impressive. Both will be getting factory support in the future I would suspect. Jimmy Lewis is finally starting to have his wrists heal and starting to take advantage of the more cautious riding by the KTM mafia. For me the most fun thing about the Dakar is that I have fully corrupted my mum-in-law with it. MIL lives with us, and she'd been anticipating the Speedvision coverage for at least a month. She has a particular weakness for the Truck division! This is from my stamp collectin', romance novel writin', quiet, peacable mum-in-law! I suspected at first that she just did it to vex my dear wife, but she's gone hard core. Of course, with the drama over the car division this year, it's hard not to. BTW, has anyone other than me noticed that the Dakar is essentially Survivor, but with real risk to life and limb? I vote Schlessher off the desert! Ralph Ralph E.
