I think that people have begun to tire of political correctness. At CHRISTMAS they just want to hear "Merry Christmas" not happy holiday or some other such pap. Cheers, Ed

Ummm, Ed? This is just a guess but I bet the Jewish people might disagree with the whole "Merry Christmas" thing. Probably the Muslims and Budhists also. Just a guess here but I bet even the guys over at the church of Bob fall in that camp. Wait,,,,,, do Jewish people ride KLRs? Are there any Jewish people on this list?

I find it rude to have others wish me happiness for their religion, so I don't do it for them.  I, too, find it hard to say "Happy Holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas", but it fits better -- even to the Christians I know who don't celebrate what Christmas has become. I like being inclusive; and if I can wish someone the same holiday I celebrate, then I take the opportunity to do so! Happy Holidays! Chris

There are not a whole lot of Jews left in the world, as any student of history would know – less than 15 million worldwide.  I’m one of them and proud of it.  Don’t wish me Merry Christmas – as I have no intention of being assimilated.

As for all y’all…

Merry Christmas!

Andrew

hari krishna & merry christmas.....nklr..... and not pc

Post by eddiebmauri » Thu Dec 23, 2010 8:45 am

OK, I read the comments about "Merry Christmas", and I want to tell you a TRUE story about Christmas that occured during my youth. I was born in Cuba, and came to the US in 1960'. I grew up in the US, but from the front door in, I may have as well have been in a house in Cuba. My parents were Cubans, only spoke Spanish, and the customs, food, etc. in our home were all Cuban - but located in the US. One Christmas Eve, three Hari Krishna guys knocked on the front door. They were wearing their robes, with the paint on their foreheads, etc. They were collecting money for their religion. So, they knock on the door, and my dad got to the door just ahead of me, he opens the door, and they say, "Hari Krishna", my dad (in his thick Ricky Ricaro accent) says, "OK, OK, Merry Christmas", and shuts the door. My Mom asked who it was, my dad said it was three guys dressed as Santa Clause wishing everyone a Merry Christmas.......... I am still laughing over that........... Eddie
