Robert, Your fact(s) is interesting. Just changing to a 13T, now it uses more oil? or "I still want to run 80mph regardless of the gearing...and it uses more oil." Tim, It could be an intermittent short.  Was your bike involved in the wiring recalls (I think the 2008 or later models)?
