Just a note to anyone looking to bore out their cylinder 0.5mm or 1.0mm and use the Kawi piston & rings. Sometime in the last 2 yrs or so, Kawi came out with a new piston and ring configuration.
I was rehab-ing my '06 (excessive oil burning, now bored out 0.5mm) and noticed that the new ring markings don't match the info in my pre-2003 Clymer manual. My OEM piston held rings that were marked "N" for the top / 1st ring and "2N" for the next / 2nd ring. There are no markings on the oil rings and spacer but the spacer should be oriented in a particular way.
The post-2008 1st & 2nd rings have the same markings but the 1st ring has an inside bevel on the top side. Easy to see once you know what you're looking for.
Also, the post-2008 Clymers is like day vs night compared to my pre-2003 manual, in this regard (piston / rings).
