No broken spokes, I'll try to take a picture tomorrow & send it. Flying as in regular 60 min jaunts at 85mph, yes; jumping, no I did hit a couple of deep holes/ditches hard while pretty heavily loaded with gear, I'm thinking that might have done it. Cheers, Dirk

Jeff (or anyone), do you know which spoke set works for the Takasago rim? The Excel site lists three different ones: XS9-21217 KX125 89-98; KX250 89-98 & 05; KX250F 04-05; KX500 89-04 KX125 99-05; KX250 99-04 XS9-22217 KDX200 93-06; KDX220R 97-05; KDX250 91-94; KLX250R 94-96; KX250 06-07; KX250F 06-10; KLX300R 97-07; KLX450R 08-09; KX450F 06-10; KLX650R 93-96 XS9-31217 KLX400R 03-04; KLX400SR 03-04 But doesn't give details on the differences. I have no idea. I just re-used the stock spokes. The newer KLRs use thicker spokes than the old ones. Unless they're broken, I don't think I'd bother replacing them. Stock spokes are 2 bucks and change each from mrcycles. -Jeff Khoury

Just after I bought my new 2003, I somehow managed to break 5 rear spokes. I took it into my trusted parts man and he said he'd leave them for replacement at the next tire change. He said that if I did heavy duty off roading, change them. don a17

Hmmm. I broke three spokes on my DR350 and was complaining to my trusted wheel man about the difficulty of finding individual spokes. He suggested I replace them all, as the remaining ones were probably pretty stressed if I had been riding around with three broken ones.
