K&N makes gauze type air filters and regular paper oil filter. Did you mean the stainless steel K&P oil filters? I have used a K&P oil filter longer than anyone on this list. In fact I am using the same element for about 7 or 8 years. Yup, me too. It was a bit expensive, but the convenience alone is well worth the money. Then, there's the improved flow at colder temperatures, and uniform filtering - no 10 microns here, and 80 microns there, as is the case with paper elements. I might have the second oldest K&P reusable. Got it from Fred many rallies ago. I'd recommend it highly. But a word of caution: The grommets eventually get hard and then don't seal. I'd replace them every other oil change or so. Bogdan

Works great. Seconds to clean in kerosene or any appropriate solvent. Very fine mesh. Excellent flow, especially during start-up when the oil is cold and thick. Never have to go looking for a spare filter. No fears of paper in the oil strainer screen as some list members have reported. Read the FAQs for the Fram, Wix, Napa oil filter part numbers. Save yourself some bucks.

I have taken the collective advice of the group and attmepted to purchase a purolator or emgo oil filter. The trouble is, is that I cannot locate a place that carries a decent selection of motorcycle filter. Everyone seems to carry fram but not purolator and definitly not emgo.
