two inner tubes per tire?
It's an interesting idea, but I believe it's doomed to failure. Most likely the tubes will rub against each other wearing a hole in both of them, so now you'ld have 2 tubes to fix. Great idea anyway though...

two inner tubes per tire?
I use slime to prevent catastrophic deflation. I've run over more than a couple of nails and never had a problem. That being said, I don't trust it as a permanent fix. At my earliest convenience I will patch the tube. The slime makes it easy to find the puncture.
I carry windex in a spray bottle for many purposes: cleaning mirrors and face shields, lubing tire beads, and it works well to clean up the excess slime. My patch kit contains wet sandpaper which combined with the windex really cleans up the area well and allows the patch to stick well.
The whole patch kit fits in a pill bottle.

If you're doing a rally that is mostly offroad you should probably use a mousse. I think Michelin makes them. They don't handle the heat of high speed driving well though. Personally I preemptively slime my tubes and carry a patch kit, compressor and tire irons with me. -Jeff Khoury On Jul 22, 2010, at 7:06 AM, "skypilot110" wrote: Interesting idea but I would be more concerned about the extra unsprung weight. Throw away the patches and get some really good pain pills for the pill bottle plus carry new tubes (kidding). A friend of mine who lives in the Big Bend area of TX (land of many thorns) has been running the TUbliss system on his 650 Paris Dakar with success. I think I will try them on my next set of tires.
