pvc mod
I put the PCV in my KLR when I put the 685 kit in about 25,000 miles ago. KLR Cary was a passionate advocate of the PCV mod and I deferred to his considerable expertise. I don't know that the PCV helps with oil consumption. I do know that I have seen zero oil consumption on the 685 kit, but I don't know that that results from the PCV. Maybe it results from the new rings and valves? The KLR did use a small amount of oil for 35,000 miles until the 685 kit went in.
What I am almost certain about is that adding the valve DOES NOT HURT. It very low cost farkle so I don't see any substantial risk. Why not add one and see? If it does not help reversing the mod can be done just as inexpensively.
