Post by stuart sullivan » Fri Apr 23, 2010 1:35 pm

Yah lots of different Oils, lots of different Whiskeys but one things for sure theres really only one Whiskey and It's called Single Malt from you know where, and I'm up here in Canada. Rye's Ok,Bourbon YUUUUK,have tried them all and always come back to nectar of the GODS with a little drop of water none of this ice crap, kills the taste, well that's my Rant for the day I'm sure it will stir up a hornets nest so let the fun begin,as for oil I've used synthetic, regular and mixed em both together and different grades with no ill affects that i could tell so like the Whiskey you choose your poison and fly at her.                                                    Stu in Rye Country. I thought that single malts were Whiskys.  Some like corn based sour mash, but give me a bottle of Saaremaa or Viru Valge, two little Estonian vodkas.  Two shots of either and you become a true and invincible Viking warrior, or you fall flat on your face! And definitely the Single malts over the blended.straight, so you don't dilute the flavors.Cazadores or Cabrito for the blue agave and nothing reminds me more of burnt tires than good ol' mescal, worm and all.  Buddy in Tequila country

Old Overholt over store ice, straight rye whisky, not blended. There is your true nectar of the gods. Pour it over store ice, not that nasty chlorinated crap from your tap. Drink it out of a plastic rally mug; if you have ever been to a BMW rally, you know the kind I mean. Old Overholt, Rotella and WD40 on your chain: three great traditions and a hell of a lot better than rum, the lash and buggery.

Amen to that, Buddy, and thank you for reminding me I still have a 375 of Cabrito left over from my last excursion to El Fuerte.

Eldon's rant, IIRC, is that a fork brace is "unsprung weight" which will greatly affect and effect the responsiveness of the fork assembly to bumps and the mass of the assembly would similarly screw up the directional change response of the front end. Of course, we are speaking about the mighty KLR, winner of the caveman tool of choice award for the last 3,000 years running. Did anybody see the opening of the NatGeo Channel show about the two guys from Kenya that are visit New York City for last year's Marathon? One of the guys is shown zipping through the bush in Kenya on a KLR. Go figure, indeed!
