Looking at the reviews linked from http://www.jcwhitney.com/motorcycle-travel-trunks/p2010969.jcwx I do not think I would buy them. Thor

Yup, I run the 8 gallon one. Fits my any one of my helmets. FF or Dirt with visor. Also carries Cisco network switches pretty damned good too
It took off the luggage plate, flipped over the container and used the luggage plate (upside down ofcourse) as a template. I then got some allen head bolts the same size as the mounting bolts for that plate and some washers that would seal the holes from my local hardware store. USed RTV on the washers and locked it down. Yes, it did block the OEM tool box, but so what

The handles on both sides have a loop to put a padlock into that keeps the handles from being unlatched. I can try and take some pictures tonight if anyone is interested. -Rich in Newberg, OR

Yes, it will handle a 12 pack or bud light, bag of tortilla chips and a jar of Salsa just fine...
'course it's another 4-10 hours before you can ride again, depending on how many of them bud's you drank... -Rich in Newberg, OR

'oil 'weight' error - a problem ?
You are not going to cause any damage using the lighter oil. Worst
case the friction modifiers in the 10W30 can make the clutch more
likely to slip but with the beefy KLR clutch that is debatable.
Since the oil is thinner it may "use" a little more than usual.
The thinner oil may make shifting gears require a little more authority
and at worst may cause you to miss the first to second shift.
If any of these things occur or bother you just change the oil.

Medium vs. Large... Will both handle a full-face helmet? Will the Large handle two? Any guidance on the real size and usefulness of these two sizes? Any ideas on how easy to mount to a Vstrom?

 Thanks all!
