carb parts questions

Post by Don Montgomery » Fri Sep 04, 2009 7:45 am

Hi all, got the carb in pieces and have two questions before its reassembled. (2002 model) The plactic fuel inlet and the vent outlet are identical on the outside except one is grey and one is black. Inside, the black one is more open but less rugedly built. The grey one has a smaller internal opening, probably large enough to flow adequate fuel and likely stronger. Can anyone tell me which goes where? The fuel bowl gasket was glued to the bowl and I'd like to glue the new one in place - what material should I use? I did find the tiny o-rings and a bowl gasket at Bikerbandit.com. The whole 8 pieces cost as much as the dealer wanted for one o-ring on the fuel inlet! No association with Bikerbandit other than a happy customer. Thx in advance. Don M [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

You should have bagged the one the rev got from Pennsylvania. AZ is a lot closer for him than it is for you. But who would risk a one-way plane ticket on a bike that doesn't run?
