I've moved to San Antonio, TX, and now have a guest room, and a small garage! I have a reasonable collection of tools, but not enough to do an engine or tranny teardown (God forbid). There's a big fan (100F today) good lighting, and some space. Unfortunately the driveway has a 10 degree slope, so some outdoor work could be a challenge. PM me if you're coming through so I can be on standby, or just visit (coordinates available). There's only 1 bed though, and we have a cat (bring your own Benadryl, you know who you are).

coolant fan fuse
Just moved to Sierra Vista Az from western Colorado and noticed the KLR running hot. At first I thought it was just from the ever so slightly warmer temps down here. FOR PETE'S SAKE! Anyhow yesterday I was running around town and noticed the temp guage reaching the red while at a light. OH SH!%%$! Pull over and notice the fan was not running. Let it cool off for a while and ride it home and start to investigate. As long as the bike is moving the temp is ok. First I check the voltage at the temp sensor at the bottom of the radiator. Nothing! I check the fuse and at first it looks ok, but looking closer I notice the wire is broken but not burnt. WHISKEY TANGO FOXTROT! Anybody else seen this kind of thing. This is a first for me. I decided to replace the fuse holder with the blade type that is weather resistant. I lurk a lot and thought maybe I had something to contribute.
