Less expensive: Take a EX500/EN500 mill and make a KLE500 out of the KLR.
That would be an interesting swap!

I love the KLR. It is a simple, easy to work on big single with adequate power. But I have to admit, the thought of a torque tuned parallel twin is enticing to say the least. But I wouldn't want a revver like the Ninja 650 twin.
