Gonna be riding to ADVrider WestFest in Buena Vista CO soon, and I have to swap out my front tire. Im as poor as they come and will do it myself if I have to but sadly have never changed a tire, only read about it, and would like to know in the event I am stranded.
If anyone is in the area (dont see puget sound dsn anymore) email me direct at matteeanne@...

can anyone in kitsap county or close by help with tire change?
Have a local shop replace the tire, purchase it from whereever, take the
front tire off,
which is the easy part, throw it in your trunk and take it and the new
tire, before you
leave on a big trip and get it taken care of, better to take care of
everything that you
know needs it before heading out, really anywhere. It was $20.00 a tire
in my
area, DFW.

The front tire on a KLR is as easy to change as a bicycle tire, honestly.
Thanks

To me, the cam bearing caps on the KLR look awfully close to the shim
buckets. The edge is almost over them and in the way.
As easy as taking the caps off and moving the cams up a bit is, I'd rather
do that than fight getting the shims in/out.
Even my mechanic gave pause to the prybar tool method. We didn't even try
it. Maybe we should have. But, with access to high quality tools, I couldn't
pass up tinkering. =)
