Hmmm... Now there is one for the 'warranty - gods'. Q. Did it shatter while it was just sitting there, or were you 'in motion' (= dropped the pig) contributing to the plastic's demise? Let us know if they (warranty gods)smile favorably on you. revmaaatin. just slightly warmer in central SD (no, not San Diego)

You may want to Opt Out of Yahoo's marketing tracking mechanism. Here are the directions on how to do so. Yahoo is Tracking Group Members If you belong to ANY Yahoo Groups - be aware that Yahoo is now using "Web Beacons" to track every Yahoo Group user. It's similar to cookies, but allows Yahoo to record every website and every group you visit, even when you're not connected to Yahoo. Look at their updated privacy statement at http://info. yahoo.com/ privacy/us/ yahoo/webbeacons /details. html On the left find a paragraph/box entitled "Opt-Out." This will let you "opt-out" of their snooping. Click it and then click the opt-out button on the next page. Note that Yahoo's invasion of your privacy - and your ability to opt- out of it - is not user-specific. It is MACHINE specific. That means you will have to opt-out on every computer (and browser) you use. Related article: http://antivirus. about.com/ od/spywareandadw are/a/yahoobugs. htm Please send this to anyone or any group you would like. I have also heard that Yahoo goes in and "re-sets" the opt out, so you may choose to do this every few months

There are Privacy Modes available for Firefox and even some for Internet Explorer which will block all cookies, web history, Disk Cache, etc. (A.K.A. "Porn Mode") You can toggle this option on and off at your leisure. Firefox is better and easier at it than IE is. Even so, If you are logged in to ANY site where you supply a user name and password, you are being tracked. It's really not much for folks here to worry about. Virtually every web site you visit "watches" what you do. The main purpose for that is targeted advertising. As a simple example, say you are a Three Stooges fan. You spend a some time looking for information on Larry, Moe, and Curly (or Shemp). Maybe you are watching old videos or buying memorabilia. Chances become high that an ad will appear in one of the web sites that you visit, offering some Three Stooges thing or another. An ad is going to appear there regardless, it might as well be something that you might be interested in! A more insidious activity is harvesting of email addresses from email groups, such as this one. Then you become the target of unwanted emails. That's worse than embedded ads in web pages, which as I noted earlier, are going to be there anyway. Mike Paul Antonovich wrote:
