My speedometer cable broke from doing too many wheelies, does anyone know where I can get one cheap and not go through the dealer? Thanks! Ron K

Dumb question but I have to ask. I thought my speedo cable was broken so I ordered another one. Turns out it was just off the speedometer head which I screwed back in and couldn't test nevause it is raining. The cable on the bike has a bend at the top and the new one is straight, is this a problem. I have an 04. Thanks john

What's the PN on the new one? The Kawasaki site shows that 54001-1207 is the correct one, and the picture shows a bend at the top. If it's wrong, take it back. If you got it from Ron Ayers, call them up. They exchanged wrong parts (their mistake) for me with no hassle. __Arden

Hello! My 2001 KLR650 is in need of a speedometer cable. Does anyone have one in good used condition that they would be willing to part with for a reasonable cost? The ones on eBay are priced a little high. Thanks much!

Looks like speedo cables go for $11.95 (ronayers) and up (other vendors), plus S&H. Give Arrowhead Motorsports your consideration for price, customer service and fast delivery. Alan

You are correct on UNI & K&N from my experience. I didn't trust the K&N in real dusty circumstances. I spent way too much money on a Big Gun. Too loud (according to my friends) and didn't trust it staying together on a long trip plus having to repack. I have learned to live with the stock pipe after getting rid of tweety and drilling a few holes in the rear to improve the sound. I was happy with the results of a DynaJet kit for throttle response. Hello mau- As much abuse that a speedo cable can receive, a used cable, with freight, is probably poor economy; unless it is a free cable, free shipping. Ah, not likely.... For the cost of a new OEM cable, you can have it in-hand in less than 3-7 days from most Kawi dealers--with the added benefit, that is is new, and not well used/abused, waiting to fail again. revmaaatin.

I've got one, brand new. Ordered it when I thought I broke mine, but it had just unseated when I didn't tighten the fitting up enough. $15 shipped? Adam Bendig Muse Presentation Technologies 714 679-1344 cell 714 850-1008 office [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
