You people whining off-topic are unbelievable. Did you take the time
to read the membership rules? NKLR discussions are acceptable. If
you don't like a topic designated 'NKLR', DON'T READ IT. Move on.
Are you some of you so intolerant that you can't hold an intelligent
discussion or debate outside your beloved KLR? Are you really this
shallow? If so, unsubscribe and go do something else. Go find some
other group that will coddle you in your KLR microcosm little
bubble.
It really is pathetic. The complainers want more KLR content yet
when they hit the keyboard themselves, nothing comes out. To these
individuals, feel free to lead discussions or post something of
value. If you prefer silence, go lock yourself in a closet. But
don't come tell this forum what they're going to or should discuss.
WE ALWAYS get to the most important KLR issues especially outside the
(political) rutting season as Fred just noted. If you can't deal
with that then punch out; personally, these people possessing
patience of flea are extremely troubled. To these prospective
unsubcribers...good riddance and good luck finding a better forum, a
better administrator/help than Fred, better technical experience and
assistance, camaraderie and healthy banter. There are plenty of off-
topics I choose not to indulge but you won't find me
complaining.
Anyway, some people in the group engage in intelligent conversation
and debate while waiting to respond to yet another episode of "The
frozen front wheel that won't spin." I assure all every precious KLR
question/comment gets addressed in the order it was received.

Fred, please see to the door the unsubcribers and otherwise those
whining. It's my opinion they don't appreciate how good this forum is
(at least when it's functioning optimally) nor the effectiveness of
teamwork, respect, etc. That old saying [sigh]...you don't know what
you lost til it's gone. Well, if for nothing else boot'em for failing
to follow the official rules of engagement lacking 'NKLR' in their
tantrum topics. Then torque the door bolts tight to 130 ft-lbs. Give
them two weeks and the lost souls won't know what to do with
themselves...begging to re-enter the only REAL KLR brain trust on the
planet.

We're in the midst of one of the most consequential elections in modern U.S. history.
Is it such a bad thing for listers to engage in civilized discussion about it? (Because
that's what the recent political threads have seemed like to me--respectful and civilized.)
Yes, I have a water cooler in my office, and, yes, it provides a forum for political conversation
from time to time. But I don't have anyone around the water cooler who lives in Alaska
(for example), who can give me an in-stater's perspective on the current governor.
I think that's kinda cool, and it helps me get a more rounded picture of her as a candidate for
national office.
We have a little more than two weeks to election day. So don't worry: the oil, tire, doohickey,
farkle and other familiar threads will be back (with a vengeance) soon. Count on it...
Meantime, you can always delete the ones you're not interested in, without reading them.

I think the majority of the animosity to the NKLR posts is that recently
they are easily outnumbering the true KLR posts.
While it is simple to delete the NKLR posts, I, like many others, have
better things to do than have to weed through even more emails. It is kind of
like spam. And while it may only take a short time to delete them, frankly, I,
like most people, have better things to do with my time than weed through
posts by someone telling me about their version of how great Obama or McCain is.
While the NKLR posts may be acceptable under the rules, and apparently NKLR
posts are openly enouraged as you seem to imply, I think it possible that
the list could turn into just a big trash heap of 90% of the posts of no use
to 90% of the people.
Wasn't this KLR site supposed to be for the KLR? Aren't topic specific
forums supposed to be topic specific?
If I want to talk about politics, I will go to a politic site. I think
someone would be looked down upon if you started talking KLR's on a political
site.
I don't see why you are encouraging the dramatic increase in NKLR postings
totally meaningless to KLR related info.

Boulder Adv Rider,
When I got to the end of reading your message I realized that; for someone
who takes a dim view of whining and complaining, you did a lot of whining
and complaining about the complainers.
Just a notice.
Happy trails,

Totally agree with the below post.. the off topic is getting
pathetic..Politics are like religion, there is not much chance in
changin anyones mind and there is a great chance in pissing alot of
people off.. so whats the sense on a KLR forum? are there not
political forums specifically for debating politics? I thought the
whole reason for this forum was for what we all have in common.. the
beloved KLR..

Lawrence...it's better to be thought a fool than to speak up and
remove all doubt. BTW, aren't you new to the group? Welcome aboard.

And Lawrence...while I do appreciate your candid reaction and even
the snide personal attack, I'd like for you to point out exactly
where I "did a lot of whining and complaining." I thought I pointed
out the facts and most importantly THE DOOR for many of the whiners
and complainers.
