cary aspy memorial

Post by Forrest » Thu Oct 09, 2008 7:29 pm

I just ordered my memorial stickers on the Schnitz Racing web site. Just fill in the amount you want to donate and click the box above the order line. If just half the people on all the KLR forums throw in $20 bucks or more the St. Joseph School would see a very large donation in memory of Cary. That's about the only thing the KLR community can actually do to express our gratitude for his life and sadness at his passing. :( I'm not a sticker guy but that one will be on my bike when it arrives. ww

adding fork oil question

Post by dooden » Fri Oct 10, 2008 7:09 am

Yes with a small funnel you could add through the valve hole, oil will go down into fork, but no way to measure how much oil is in the fork that way. Since you measure fork oil with the springs out of the tube since they will displace the oil and give a false measurement. Could I suppose in a pinch drain oil from bottom, and add a exact amount back in them. Somebody might know how much.. the Fork oil I bought comes in 1 liter bottle I believe and I use just under half a bottle per fork, when done I had maybe 3 ~4 oz left in the bottle. And yes braking sucks when fork oil drips onto brake pads. If possible loosen the "top" pinch bolts of the forks, and then the fork caps should turn out. (Providing the caps are flush with the triple and not already way up like in crate position about 3" up) Want to say (from memory) 190mm down from the top of the tube is where the oil level should be, thats without the springs/spacers in the tubes. Good Luck, ride careful once your back on the trail. Dooden A15 Green Ape --- In DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com, "Mark Harfenist" wrote:

cary aspy memorial

Roger that. Come on people, let's do this. Also, does anyone know more details about what happened, other than his being nailed by a "Cager". I'm sure that the statement..."But officer. I didn't SEE him" was in there somewhere. Nothing personal, but remember, they are out to kill you, so ride accordingly. Other bikes have riders...KLR's have pilots. Check 6
