gel seat kit
I just got back from a 1200 mile ride with this saddle and in my opinion - there has to be something better. It was OK for sections 75-100 miles long. My 13 yo daughter was on the back and said it was the same for her. Real bummer having that long distance tank and not being able to use it....

It has been said before, Corbin. I had a Corbin on my FJ1200 and have on on my CBR XX and have done more than 1500 miles in a straight shot on each without a sore (although tired) ass. My daughter rode on the back of the XX for over 1000 miles and did well although there is not a lot of leg room for a passenger on the XX. I haven't bothered on the KLR as I don't ride it mega miles. The only thing I've really added to the KLR is the skid plate, radiator guards, and a new shifter. All good to have but they only come in handy when you crash )-: __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Get email at your own domain with Yahoo! Anyone know where to find 3/16" or shorter staples necessary
to attach the Travelcade/Saddleman Gel Seat kit?? 1/4" is the
shortest I can find.
Thanks much.

I'd suggest you Email Tammy at tammy@... and find out what she used, and where she got them. I know she used a Travelcade gel insert. Her website is at: http://www.agwgo.com/klr650/main/index.php Mark Glitter is coined to meet the moment's rage; Genuine lives on from age to age. - Goethe's "Faust" KLR650 Motorcycle Pages: http://klr6500.tripod.com/ HomePage: http://home.adelphia.net/~msaint/index.html My Adelphia Email can be "iffy." Dave, good morning.
I used 1/4" from Sears. I believe that they are the shortest they sell.

George, I too have a Travelcade seat on the way. With the 1/4" staples did you get any hemorrhoid surgery or are they unnoticeable? Any tricks to installation? Can't wait to ditch the original that felt so good sitting still, but is lousy after 15 minutes. Murf>

Replaced my stock cover with another stock cover after ripping it.
Used 1/4 staples. No problems to report, not holes to patch, life is
good.

Murf, good morning
When I got my Travelcade I thought is was pretty nice. Later short
rides proved to me that I had made a mistake. After a 2500 miles ride I
hate it. However it may be just my boney butt.
Installation was easy. I installed mine with 1/4" staples using the
same technique that an artist would use to stretch a canvas. Attach the
front of the cover with a staple, then pull the cover to the rear and
staple it there. Now staple one side in the middle and then the other
side middle with a staple. Next you have to staple the four remaining
sections one at a time. Start with one side going from the middle to
the front and then the other side from the middle towards the back.
Lastly the two remaining sides going from middle to front and middle to
back.
