not starting...and i'm all choked up

My Joe Rocket Metior 4 ballistic cycle jacket just had too many squashed bugs on it so I had to wash the thing. I'm sure the water resistant coating is gone. I've noticed that it "breathes" much more now than before. I want to get some of the water resistant properties back. Any suggestions? Camp Dry?

Why not give the company a call. I had to get some armor for my jacket and they were very helpful.

Aerostich sells a product that they recommend for their gear. You add it to the wash when your jacket goes in the washing machine. "Nikwash"?

and they were very helpful. > Good advise. That is what I did. I have a Firstgear Kilimanjaro coat. There is a wash for the coat (hand wash only) and then you follow with the waterproof stuff. Nikwax. Just put it in water, but not with the soap. By the way. I took the pads out of my coat and now I have two left over. I have looked and looked and cannot figure out where those two pads go. The coat now has elbo pads, back pads, and shoulder pads, which are in place--and I have those two pads that are left over. Anyone had this experience? Solution? Hey Jeff. It only starts [right up] when I hold a touch of throttle and positioned in full choke. Thereafter getting it to self-idle on max choke isn't a go and it die instantly if you lower the choke. Something has definitely changed. Using no or less choke doesn't work at all. Running the starter and switching no-full-no makes no difference. When cold, I always had to start it on full choke, so this won't change. And even in the present condition, once it's 10- 20 seconds warm, adding choke will kill it or make it run very rough. After the valve job, it ran great. Started right up and ran even better than before the valve adj. I rode Great Sand Dunes and had no problem. It wasn't until recently I did a rather fast ride out to Steamboat Springs did I notice the problem. Once I arrived at a trailhead, I parked it and disappeared for 5-days into the bush. When I got back, that's when I noticed the bad starting condition. I have an IMS plastic tank and in-line filter, so gunk/rust/moisture in the carb not likely save the entry via the air cleaner. I just cleaned it and only the filter skin had light dirt. No change to start-up problem. Also, I refueled on the way home, so really doubt fuel contamination. Yet I don't completely rule out something getting into the carb. I'm going to run some compression tests (maybe leak down, too) and see what I get. Anyone have data on this to compare my results?
