OK, apologies to all for using this forum as a "lonely hearts" venue!
But, you get to my age, riding buddies are hard to come by...
I ride a '91 KLR, great condition, 35k miles; been riding her for (15)
years, do all the maintenance myself. Mostly paved riding. Usually
pack a couple chilled beers in the tailbag when I ride, stop at scenic
overlooks for a picture/beer, and also stop at the occasional tavern -
moderate drinker. Ride at the speed limit. 58 years old, married. NRA,
AMA and independent voter if that matters.
Looking for other similar self-sufficient KLR riders in the San Jose,
CA area for weekend rides in the Santa Cruz Mtns. and along Hwy 1; and
maybe overnight camping in the Sierra Nevada Mtns. (separate tents!).
Anyone up for a ride? Contact me direct at the addy below.
Thanks.

Hey Glenn, There are a few of us here from the Bay area. I live in San Bruno but ride in the Santa Cruz mountains as well as Death Valley and Baja (when I'm good and wife says ok). Although I seem to find less time to do any of it. I do have access to a cabin in the russian river area that we incorporate into several rides up the coast, Fort Bragg / Mendocino areas. Haven't done motorcycle camping but that sounds fun. We are going to Death Valley over Veterans weekend for fire road riding. Most of us have similar NRA / AMA affiliations for what ever that is worth. Ride Safe, Adam 04 KLR 650 04 KTM 450MXC San Bruno,CA> > Anyone up for a ride? porous oil filter cover
Stu, I saw it on the Internet so it must be true! Seriously
though, someone did report their housing was replaced
(not the oil filter cover) under warrantee because of an oil
filter leak. The dealer mechanic said it was porous for what
it's worth. Probably just a bad casting.
