I used to use good ole ATF in my '73 H1 and in my '74 F7C. My little
brother raced the 175 in the CMC races at OMS, Riverside and the then new
Willow Springs. The owner of Kon Tiki Kawasaki in Pacific Beach, CA was
and old Spanish OSSA machinist and he re-worked the disc valve and cleaned
up the intake port. That litle sucker could fly. Anyway, back to your
question..............the H1 had 28,000 miles on it when I traded it in for
a new '75 Z1 and had no problems with the transmission at all. I sold the
F7 in 1998 after three seasons of racing and another 20 or so years of
putting around in the SoCal mountains. Again, no transmission problems at
all. I used Valvoline ATF, IIRC.

Hope that helps.
