interaction with a dealer

Real new to this stuff but found out it might be a good idea to get some rideing boots and maybe some leg armor. I want to be able to walk in the boots. I am to understand that some are pretty much for rideing only, I need to walk also. Without breaking the bank what seems to be working out for you guys? I need the best bang for the buck and still not burn my legs when the bike falls on them and I get pinned. Don't ask how I know. thanks for the help Gary

I have a pair of Thor Quadrant boots that I got from Fred for about $130. They are pretty comfortable, but definitely overkill for street riding, although they work ok for me. Ross Lindberg Fertile, MN

Thanks Ross I may or may not use them on the street but want them mostly for ridein forrest and fire roads. Nothin to tough but I can apparently fall almost anywhere. LOL

Combat Touring Boots by Aerostich. Worth the money. They are almost like Motocross boots but comfortable to walk in. If you want cheap try one of the Academy stores if they are in your area. Wide variety of inexpensive boots. Criswell

Thanks again guys. I took a look at the 50/50's they seem pretty good but I need taller boots. The burn on my leg told me so. Anyway I also agree with the leg protection. My falls have been at very low speed and I have been pretty lucky so far just to have a couple of bangs but really no major problems. I figure I would start with the boots and work up a bit.

I bought some ONEAL MX boots from 'Cycle Gear' for around $80. They work fine for me, riding AND walking. Ed
