loctite fork air bleeder caps

Post by Spike55 » Wed Apr 30, 2008 6:50 pm

After 2 yrs of ownership, I apparently lost one of those caps for the valve stems at the top of the fork tubes. I stopped at a dealer today and asked about getting another one. You can't buy the black plastic cap. You have to buy the whole end cap (end of the fork tube, the valve stem, the plastic cap) for $15+. I never even thought about putting Loctite / Threadlocker on them before now. I'm going with regular valve stem caps (not as much coverage of the bare threads but cheap / free). Don R100, A6F

klr's in aus

Post by Gavin Macfarlane » Wed Apr 30, 2008 6:55 pm

Is there anyone from Australia on the list.I am thinking of flying from Canada to Australia next September and buying a second hand(2006/07) KLR.I want to tour Aus for 6 or 7 months, sell the bike and fly back home.I am currently in Bolivia on my 2007 KLR.I have 52000 klm on the bike since I left Canada on Oct 1/07.I am on my way back home to touch base with family and friends, but would like to head south again before winter sets in.I need information on availability of 2nd hand bikes and the laws regarding foreign ownership and insurance.Any information would be appreciated. Probably best to respond off list? Thank you................ -Wayne" Hi Wayne, As Heinz mentioned in his post, there are not that many KLR's here, the DR 650 is way more popular. The first A models were the A18 in 2004, before that we had the European C models. I don't know if we even got 2006 ie A20's here, I think they were still running out the 2004/5 models. Here are a couple of links for used bikes online, I suggest you keep an eye out as your time gets closer. http://www.bikesales.com.au/ http://www.bikepoint.com.au/ Gavin A18 & DR650K8 Broadford Victoria Australia ____________________________________________________________________________________ Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Yahoo!
